Encouraging 5th of 15 to IROISE DE LA NOE (1) in 2850m Gr.2 Prix de Belgique on 12 January. Has not won a race for almost 3 years and is not about to buck the trend

Disappointing in 2 since running 2nd to Jushua Tree in Prix Marcel Laurent in early-November, latterly 12th of 14 finishers in Prix de Bourgogne, and racing shod will do his prospects no favours

8th of 17 to IDAO DE TILLARD (18) when preparing for this in Prix de Bourgogne late-December. Most impressive when victorious in Prix de Bretagne and a similar performance would see him go close

Has not won since last June but consistently gives his best, most recently 3rd to IROISE DE LA NOE (1) in 2850m Gr.2 Prix de Belgique a fortnight back. Unlikely to repeat 2023 success but will not be far off the mark

Reassuring winner of 2100m Gr.2 Prix de Bourgogne here on 29 December, his first victory since September. With health issues put to bed, he looked close to his best that day and can win this for 2nd year in a row

Race Overview
Unbeaten last winter, IDAO DE TILLARD (18) was less performant in the latter half of 2024 but reassured with a comfortable Prix de Bourgogne success. It looks like Thierry Duvaldestin's 7yo is back at his best and, barefoot for the first time in his career, will be ready to defend his title. Runner-up to him late last month, GO ON BOY (16) beat him in both the Grand Prix de Wallonie and Elite Circuit Finale during the autumn and, barefoot for just the second time in 11 months, is expected to improve on last year's 4th place. Bjorn Goop has prepared SAN MOTEUR (13) at home in Sweden, runs him unshod-behind, and will be justifiably expecting a big run. Barefoot for the first time since April, HUSSARD DU LANDRET (11) has been kept ticking over since winning the Prix de Bretagne and Yoann Lebourgeois will be particularly attentive to his charge's initial steps, having faulted early in the 2024 edition.
