The speedily bred Frédéric Rossi-trained Rose Premium showed plenty of promise when runner-up over 1100m on debut at Chantilly. Plenty went wrong for her on that occasion and similar can be said when she went one better at Longchamp earlier in the week.

Keen leaving the stalls she then encountered what could have been a potentially nasty incident as a horse on her inside veered left. Jockey Cristian Demuro was forced to pull and take his time towards the back of the field. Fired up after that early incident she continued to over-race throughout the early stages, something not ideal for a filly stepping up in trip. However, she dropped the bit just past the midway stage and began to settle. Still with plenty of work to do as they entered the home straight, she showed a smart turn of foot securing the lead. However, it appeared those early exertions and incidents may have taken a tollas she was strongly pressed by the eventual runner-up Agrigan. The Jean-Claude Seroul-owned two-year-old showed a brilliant attitude stepping up in distance to run out a cosy one-and-a-half-length winner at the line.

The daughter of Dark Angel is closely related to Louliana, also trained by Frédéric Rossi. She went on to Listed success in the Prix Marchand d'Or (1200m) at Chantilly earlier this month and although this filly needs to learn to settle better, it would be no surprise if she were up to pattern class at some stage.

Dark Angel was a top-class two-year-old and has proved a brilliant stallion over the years producing the likes of: Battaash, Harry Angel, Mecca’s Angel and Lethal Force. He currently stands at Yeomanstown Stud in Ireland for a fee of €60,000. The dam Rosie's Premiere was also bred by Yeomanstown Stud.
