Detroit Ace   

Detroit Ace became the new leader of the Trophée Vert when scoring at La Roche-Posay on Sunday, his second victory in the 2021 series following his win at Rambouillet. The resident of Damien Lecroq will continue to contest the qualifying heats as he looks toward the Group Three final at Crain in September.   


Independancia produced a top performance when not far from the 2175m course record (1’12”) for three-year-olds at Vincennes recording 1’12”3 over the shorter walk-up start distance. This was the second victory in a week following success at Enghien.   

Jean-Pierre Dubois

Jean-Pierre Dubois will celebrate his 81st birthday next month. The driver has not had a success at Vincennes since 2019 until, scoring aboard Independancia. The trainer/drivers passion for racing has shone throughout the years and he certainly does not show any signs of slowing down!  

Bahia Quesnot  

Bahia Quesnot received an invitation to participate in the G2 Jämtlands Stora (2140m) Pris on June 12th in Sweden at the Östersund racecourse. The prize money has returned to its original value of 700,000 Sek (around € 70,000). Junior Guelpa is yet to confirm if his representative will compete and suggests it will depend on how she has come out of the Elitloppet.   


Siyouni, perennial French champion, will be made available at Haras de Bonneval during the second semester of 2021 to cover mares on a southern hemisphere schedule at a fee of €100,000. He is the sire of last Sunday’s Prix du Jockey Club winner St Mark’s Basilica.   

Bugsy Malone  

Long distance records fell at Vichy on Monday when Bugsy Malone recorded 1'12''4 and Bilooka du Boscai 1’12”5. These times bettered Bélina Josselyn’s 1'12''8, over 3.550 meters and Up and Quick 1'12''9, over 3,575 meters having previously been set in the Prix Jean Riaud, at Vincennes, in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
