Guarato duo set to square off

It’s A Dollarmaker bidding for a 12th career victory in Saturday's Prix Albert Demarcq at Vincennes

Vincennes features three important group races on its Saturday card with the Gr.2 Prix Albert Demarcq headlining the afternoon’s activities. Ten five year-olds are set to do battle over 2850m on the main track and Sébastien Guarato appears to have the key.

Eleven times a winner in just eighteen starts, It’s A Dollarmaker returns to the venue following his authoritative Gr.2 Prix Robert Auvray victory, and seems set for a repeat. Stablemate, Instrumentaliste, already a winner at a similar level, was oddly below-par that day but he will be shod differently this time and is expected to bounce right back. Others in contention include recent Gr.2 winner, Iroise De La NoéInvincible Cash, and possible spoiler, Impressionist.

Four year-old colts and fillies get their chance to shine in the Gr.3 Prix du Vaucluse over a similar distance, and another good Jean-Michel Bazire-trained colt will attract most attention. Progressive and talented, Jushua Tree encountered no opposition on his way to a recent Class A success and will take all the beating, provided he maintains stride. Principal threats include recent surprise Gr.2 runner-up, Just For Lova, the delicate but capable Jingle Delo, and the improving Jiosco De Phyt’s.

Completing the black-type triptych is the Gr.3 Prix Roger Ledoyen, an interesting monté event for older horses with Damien Bonne’s complicated but first-rate Dynasty Pierji looking the pick of the field after a reassuringly spirited comeback in the Gr.3 Prix Cornélia following a short spell. Third to him that day before confirming a level up two weeks later, Figaro De Larré is again in with a decent shout, as is Geisha Speed who is 25m better off. Hacker Boy is one to keep an eye on, with Django Du Bocage never far from causing an upset.
