The racecourse extends on 92 hectares. It is one of the biggest racetracks in Paris area. 20 hectares are dedicated to the several turf courses:

In 1818, a banker called Jacques Laffitte bought the castle of Maisons-Laffitte and its land. From the start it included an area dedicated to horse racing, organised by Laffitte’s son Charles and his son-in-law the Prince of Moskowa. The racecourse officially opened its doors in 1878 and was bought by the Racing Society in 1892. The Maisons-Laffitte racecourse is built alongside the Seine borders, on 92 hectares of land. It is the oldest and vastest Parisian racecourse, with no less than 20 hectares of tracks.
