Vire – Wednesday 24th Feb 2021

H2 – Hoyee

The Sébastien Guarato trained four-year-old filly made it two from two in driven company when stretching away for an emphatic success at Vire on Wednesday. The win marked a third career victory from four starts. Frank Nivard always had his mount well positioned and turning for home the result looked inevitable. Eased down, she came home over three-lengths clear of the nearest pursuer managing to produce a clear and improving personal best kilometre rating of 1'14''4. This suggests there is more to come.

A daughter of Charly du Noyer, it would appear the filly has already inherited her father’s natural ability. A five-time Group winner, his career highlight was a success in the G1 Critérium des 4 ans (2850m) as a four-year-old in 2016. The incredibly versatile son of Ready Cash went on to compete at the highest level throughout his career. It is worth noting the dam, Rocket du Closet, also trained by Sébastien Guarato, contested top grade mounted races throughout her career. The combination of a prominent stallion in driven races and a dam who performed so highly in mounted company could provide future options regarding adaptability.

This well-bred filly has a long way to go to reach the standard of her parents, but it would be no surprise if she was given loftier targets, with the intention of naturally progressing to the feature tracks.
