Snow cancels racing at Pau

03 February 2015

Heavy snow falls have got the better of Pau’s 8-race flat and jumps programme today. The track is currently covered in a white blanket which has meant the ground is unsafe and impractical for racing.

Udayama and Anna Mix win in the stewards’ room

02 February 2015

Sunday turned out to be quite eventful at Vincennes with the stewards being particularly active. In the Group 3 Prix de Rouen, Swedish raider Indigious, trained by Stig Johansson, took advantage of a great trip behind odds-on favourite Anna Mix (Frank Nivard up) to land the spoils close home at 5/1. But the stewards’ horn rang out immediately, and the 6yo son of Prodigious was found guilty of not trotting fluently in the final 250m.

Sunday, Vincennes: impressive foreign-bred Moving On and Indigious take on French mare Anna Mix

31 January 2015

The Group 3 Prix de Rouen at Vincennes on Sunday (Race 5) will be host to an intriguing clash between two smart-looking foreign-bred trotters Moving On and Indigious, and very tough French mare Anna Mix. All three are the back of at least one win. The first two both impressed when landing their Group 3s on Prix d’Amerique Day, especially Swedish import Moving On who produced a remarkable turn of foot in the final 200 meters. Stig Johansson’s Indigious, however, did have to survive a stewards’ enquiry before bagging his race. Fabrice Souloy’s charge Moving On will be driven by Jean-Michel Bazire for the first time on Sunday as regular driver Franck Nivard will stay on board Frank Leblanc’s recent Group 2-winner Anna Mix (photo) who he has already twice driven to victory this winter. It may well be a sign for punters in what could be an interesting market!
