Festivities both North and South!

05 January 2015

Up North at Vincennes it was business as usual on Saturday for the unstoppable Guarato/Raffin duo on the track with Group II wins for Astor du Quenne and Billie de Montfort, while there were celebrations off it for driver Jean-Marie Bazire the following day (photo). The man from La Sarthe was rewarded with a record-breaking 16th Sulky d’Or! Then Sweden and Bjorn Goop rounded off a superb weekend’s trotting with an impressive win from hot favourite Chelsea Boko in the Prix de Lille.

Meanwhile down South on the French Riviera at Cagnes, it was the Winter Jumps Festival’s showcase meeting where another double was achieved. The Gérard Augustin-Normand silks shone twice thanks to the François-Marie Cottin-trained Le Bel Anjou in the Festival’s biggest chase and his other charge Nando in the hurdle equivalent.
