Sunday sees Deauville host arguably the most coveted mile race on the European circuit, the Prix Jacques le Marois. Once again, the elite from across the water take on the domestic offering, and it has the makings of another thrilling contest.

On the French side, there is much anticipation surrounding Big Rock who has enjoyed a particularly fruitful start to the year. He races for the first time in a straight line but trainer Christopher Head has declared himself satisfied. Another good domestic three year-old, German Guineas winner, Angers, has had this race on his schedule for some time. Successful in the Prix Jean Prat, Good Guess, is at his ease on the Deauville straight and is assured significant support.

French Guineas winner, Marhaba Ya Sanafi, makes his much-awaited return after his 3rd in the Jockey Club. 

Among the older French contingent, Erevann will have shaped up following a lacklustre brace during the spring, while Onesto’s condition is subject to caution, not having run since last year’s Japan Cup. Just missing out by little in the Prix Rothschild, Life In Motion is one for the shortlist.

From the UK, Triple Time who surprised in the Queen Ann Stakes comes in with high expectations. Inspiral and Light Infantry, respectively 2nd and 3rd in the 2022 edition, are back for a second crack.

Rounding off the field is Hi Royal, who was very disappointing when last seen out in the Prix Maurice de Gheest last month at Deauville, after two very good placed-efforts in both the Newmarket and Curragh Guineas.
